Who said an Eco Home couldn’t be regarded as contemporary architecture? This amazing double storey cantilever home is proof that almost anything can be built with shipping containers. With a modern wooden cladding on the exterior and a cantilevered second floor, this container home is nothing short from breathtaking.
The front door to the house is on the lower level, beneath the second storey overhang. Access is to the main hallway, with the spiral stairs to the right. On the left hand corner is the 2.4m x 1.6m powder room, which fits a toilet and sink.
Next is the first bedroom of 3.8m x 2.4m, where a full-size bed and a couple of nightstands fit comfortably.
At the end of the stair hall is the door to the second bedroom of 4.7m x 3.5m. This large space can hold a big bed and a lovely sofa for watching telly or enjoying the view through the floor-to-ceiling windows on the right hand wall.
Out into the hallway again and into the first door on the right, and you find the 2.4m x 3m bathroom, complete with a bathtub, shower and sink.
On your left hand side is the convenient 1.2 x 2m laundry room and a small closet for tucking away vacuum cleaners and other cleaning products, this room can be locked for safety if children are present.
Climbing up the spiral stairs, we arrive to the second floor, designed with an open layout plan.
Here is the 3.9m x 4.8m dining room to the far left. Enjoy your meal looking out the large glass windows that frame the spectacular view from the second storey.
